Case Study: Glemnet

Objectives: Promote the Samsung Officeserv 7000 Series Digital Telephone Systems

Preparation

Glemnet, a telecommunications company based in England requested Leet's assistance in the promotion of their digital telephone systems series – the Samsung OfficeServ 7000 Series. An analysis was completed on their current website www.glemnet.com and it was obvious that the site was not optimized in anyway for these keyword phrases.

It was decided, after analysis of the various keyword phrases that direct navigation was recommended and researching the competition we decided on a number of keyword phrase domain names to be linked to single page websites populated with relevant, keyword rich information about the individual telephone systems; that would allow visitors to download the Samsung Brochure and provide details to request a demonstration.

Execution

The next phase was to create the necessary back-links to push the new sites (and the main Glemnet site) further up the search rankings (the theory is that the closer to the top of the search results, the more hits your site will get and the more hits brings the higher chance of contact/sales).

Research was completed and articles were written using our recommended keyword phrases to be submitted to various directories, blogs and relevant websites to provide good back-links for the sites. Before the articles were submitted and the direct navigation sites went live, screenshots of the first three pages of Google were taken (click the thumbnails for actual images).

Results

Once these were submitted it was a matter of waiting and regular checking for the sites to appear in the search results.

One month later, four of the sites are live, and articles relevant to the sites have been submitted. Results are beginning to show, and using the same search term as previously another three screen shots were taken of Google and of the four sites, three now appear within these first three pages (click the thumbnails for actual images).

Evaluation

A successful initial three month phase but now the real work starts! It is often not enough to just have visitors on a website, especially if the main purpose of the site is to create sales/enquiries - the visitors need to be converted to sales. In the case of Glemnet, it has been recommended that a further three month phase be initialised in which we ensure the sites continue to progress up the search results (more article creation, further SEO on the sites and additional keyword research for example) but also encourage contact on the sites (the creation of offers, possibly different on either site to discover which is more popular for example).

It is important to remember that it can sometimes take about three/four months for back-links and changes to sites to populate through to the search engines (some are faster than others) and push sites up the rankings.
